Quality Assurance
It's Quality Assurance and fair tagging time for many counties in Ohio. I encourage all to go out and most of all pay attention. I no it can be boring hearing the same thing year after year. My challenge to you is to listen and report back by commenting on this post on how we can make quality assurance better for everyone and improve it so that you are learning even more about quality assurance.

Why I Want to Teach Ag
Teaching Ag is a passion and love. You must love agriculture and every aspect of it. Its taken me a while to love every aspect but I have really warmed up! There is NO BOUNDARIES with Agriculture. Almost EVERYTHING can in some way be related to agriculture. I mean just look at our class we have people from all different backgrounds and walks of life but we all share the common love of teaching ag! Can't wait to get started student teaching at Lynchburg-Clay High School. I hope I can infuse my love and passion into the lives of my students and we are sure to have fun in the process. I am planning many fun activities in the laboratory and classroom, from hydroponics to performance testing. I also hope that I can give these student life long skills in the process!

Where I've Been and Where I'm Going
As the school year comes to a close and everyone thinks about all the summer fun they will have, I find it time to reflect on what where I've been and where I'm going. I have ALMOST finished one of the most crucial quarter of my entire college career. It has been crazy, fun, and full of almost any emotion you can think of. It has however prepared me to take the next step in my career. As many may already know I am getting married on August 6 so my summer is chalked full of fun plans and parties. The next step after marriage is student teaching. I will start student teaching at Lynchburg-Clay High School in the middle of August. I so excited to turn my passion for agriculture into a lesson for future agricultural advocates. Well until next time...Have a great week everyone!!!

What will current fuel prices do to the Ag World?
This question I ask all of you: What will the current fuel prices do the the Ag World?
I know that everyone is feeling the pressure but I feel the producers may be hit the hardest. Not only will we have to pay to get things to us like fertilizer and seed (if it ever STOPS RAINING) but we will also have to pay the higher prices to have the grain and animals shipped. So therefore the farming is the one eating all the high fuel prices.
Until next time...Save that fuel!!

New and Improved Rural Ohio
Drew Hastings a comedian and farmer, owns and operates a cattle farm in southern Ohio. In this rural environment, Hastings has developed a large following of new fans who appreciate his eye for the humor in his fish out of water new life, as Drew regales his fans with true tales about farm living and the local characters he comes in contact with daily. Drew just recently won the Republican Primary for Mayor of Hillsboro, OH.
I am somewhat indifferent about the publicity that Hastings is getting for Hillsboro. Some times I believe it great to have him on our side and bringing such a new light to Ohio Agriculture and other times I feel like Hillsboro is looked at as a joke. Watch this video and let me know what you think!!!

My realization about Organic Beef!
Since I've been gone I have come to the realization that not everyone enjoys the World of Agriculture as much as I do. I was browsing you tube and found some very derogatory videos about Ohio Agriculture! I was shocked.... but since then I been open and have come up with this about organic beef.
Do those of you who only enjoy organic beef consider yourself organic?
I guessing NO, since in order to go to kindergarten you must get vaccinations. When we are sick we go to the Doctor and get antibiotics and so fourth. So therefore I'm Guessing NO ONE is organic themselves.
Would you deprive your children care and medication because you wanted them to be organic? NO because that would be ridiculous.
Just a few question to ponder about my reasoning behind Organic Beef!!

Community Learning
When the first idea of community learning came about the first thing I thought it would be like high school, but it has actually been a wonderful experience. By getting to know everyone in the block I have made life long friends. We went to Green County Career Center this weekend and it was simply amazing. I wish every HS caould have the mentallity of the Career Center, all the student were engaged and happy to be there. I hope to instill this in some of my students through their Ag. Ed. Experience.
